Family medicine is based on long-lasting and caring relationships with patients and their families. It is an integration of biological, clinical, and behavioral sciences to provide continuous quality and comprehensive care dedicated to treating the whole person. Family Medicine encompasses care for all ages and genders and delivers acute, chronic, and preventative services to their patients.
We offer Family Medicine for adolescents all the way to seniors, including well visits (check-ups), disease management for chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, urgent appointments for colds and flus and minor injuries, and treatment of basic sport injuries and other musculoskeletal problems.
Naturopathic medicine focuses on holistic prevention and comprehensive diagnosis and treatment. Naturopathic doctors use both conventional diagnostic testing as well as natural treatments.
Our naturopathic doctor believes fully in the body’s ability to heal, and recognizes that addressing the root cause, rather than controlling the symptoms, is necessary for complete restoration. She believes it is important to understand the entire person in order to facilitate healing and offers each patient a comprehensive individualized treatment plan to ensure that his or her goals are reached.
Our naturopathic doctor has special interests particurlarly in hormone balancing, autoimmune disease, natural approaches to dermatology, and cardiometabolic disease.
Yoga has many definitions, but is essentially the practice of fostering the connection between the mind, body, and soul.
There are many different types and practices of yoga, but most employ the utilization of breath and physical movement. Through breath and movement, an individual is able to cultivate a better connection with their minds.
Yoga is know to have many physical and mental benefits. Here are just a few:
Increased muscle strength and tone
Reduced back pain and chronic pain
Improved focus and mental acuity
Improved self and body awareness
Yoga is for all levels and ages. Our yoga teacher is currently offering two types of classes, Gentle Yoga and Therapeutic Yoga. The class sizes are unique and small (2 - 8 people), so that we can ensure that you receive the attention and care you deserve.
This class is geared towards an older population, or for people that have just had surgery and/or are suffering from pain. It is also for people who are just starting an exercise routine or who are not as active. This class does not have many strenuous poses, nor many poses that are weight-bearing-- but it still offers strength-building practices. This class is very customized towards the students that participate.
This class is uniquely designed for those with specific pains, for example, back pain or carpal tunnel. Our yoga teacher individually checks in with her students to see what poses her students require to help alleviate or reduce their specific pain, and have a safe and beneficial practice.
